As someone who has been a part of many weddings as the main entertainment, I do my best to provide distraction, entertainment and little bouts of happiness with my performance.
However, this is not the only way I keep your special event afloat. Even though you may not notice it, a wedding can sometimes become boring for those who don’t know anyone at the party.
And that is where I come in!
Adding Magic To The Moment
The Drinks Reception
The formal ceremony has ended. The guests are ordering drinks. And your office colleagues are grouped together, awkwardly looking around because they don’t know anyone else. Time for a close-up magician to break the ice!
Weddings are a great time to meet new people, but not everyone is confident. Having a close-up magician at that time tends to bring people together. This also allows them to connect with one another. The tricks performed during this time are usually short; they have multiple points so new spectators can join in.
The Evening Reception
Aside from the ‘all day guests’, the new guests need some entertainment as well. But you have to remember that they’re competing with loud music, alcohol fuelled guests and low-lighting—not a good recipe. Nevertheless, magicians use this time for some strolling magic. They perform short tricks that are a quick show. Their tricks also don’t use any verbal instructions and keep the guests entertained when their enthusiasm for the celebration starts to wane.
The Main Event
This is a bit tricky; you will have to inform the magician when they have to perform—after the couple has seated or before they make their entrance?
Either way, this event calls for all guests to be seated; it has a lengthier plot and requires attention.
The trick goes on for 4–5 minutes and involves everyone present at the table, and not just those whom the magician is facing. They encourage guests to ask questions and usually require a visible spot so everyone can see them. That is usually for the magician so their performance can really shine through.
They present the magic tricks they are most proud of, and build up for an applause cue.
The Magician’s Point of View
Magicians understand that they are to become a part of your happiest memory. This is why we work hard to help out your event at every point.
