A magician's diary

Boom. I'm back in the saddle. A lot of magic stuff has happened since the last update so this will be in particular order.A few weeks a go I slipped on a prawn sandwich leaving a magic job in west London and ended up spraining my ankle. Of course I jumped straight up as embarrassment if far worse that searing pain. The real problem was that it meant I had to put other magicians to replace me over the following couple of weeks as I couldn't walk very well. Many thanks to those magicians who covered for me...I would name them but they'd only blush and it might help you to book them instead of me. As an aside I am also the only human being to have ever slipped on a banana outside of an episode of Top Cat or Laurel and Hardy. I may add a clause to my booking contract that no squishy food is to be served.
When the pain in my ankle was easing up I went down to Eastbourne to British Ring of the International Brotherhood of Magicians magic convention. Normally this magic convention is terrible because the people who are booking it haven't got a clue. The magicians who attend go mainly for a holiday and there is no real buzz. This year was a vast improvement with lots of top magic talent shipped in. My favourite act was Tim Conover who is a trade show magician in the US. He performed a rarely seen classic of magic called Cylinder and Coins. It made my eyes bug out...there was an old story that John Ramsay the inventor of the trick fooled the top magicians in New York back in 30's. I got the same feeling watching it. John Ramsay was a grocer from Ayrshire who never performed professionally but is considered to be one of the greatest magicians of all time.
My new toy is Myspace which is a kinda diffusion range from this site where I can keep it real and give back to my people.I can't seem to link directly to it but I'm sure you'll find it...do a search for noelmagic. There is quite a bit of unreleased photos as a treat for other magicians reading this.
So Santa is preparing for the big day which means the phones are ringing off the hook for close up magicians. December dates are filling up fast and if I can't do it myself I'll recommend a magician to do a great job.
I'll try and post more as I know Dave likes to read this %@#! (paperclipped)
Oh I forgot to mention that if you want some splendid photographs for your wedding contact London wedding photographer Caroline Mardon. She took some great photos of me at a recent wedding doing magic and they'll be on the site soon.
